Eagleville, MO: Robert Lynn Allen, 90, Eagleville, MO passed away September 17, 2018 in Liberty, MO.
Robert was born in Ridgeway, MO on February 4, 1928 to William (Kin) and Goldie Foutch Allen.
He married Shirley Craig in 1947 and to this union two children were born; Deborah Gayle (Stan) Snead and Robert Wayne (Shauna) Allen. On November 1, 1970, Robert married Anna Hopkins and she survives of the home. In addition to his wife and children, Robert is survived by two grandsons, Dr. Greg Snead and Jason (Cassy) Allen and one granddaughter, Robin (Dylan) Hogan, two great-grandsons (Mason Allen and Finley Hogan) and four great-granddaughters (Raegan and Hattie Hogan; Kinlee and Paislee Allen). He is also survived by step-sons, Steve and Stan Hopkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers (James, Claude, and Warren), three sisters (Gertrude, Jeanie, and Barbara) and step-daughter Sharon Hopkins. Robert deeply loved his family and he immensely enjoyed family dinners and gatherings. He and Wayne enjoyed fishing and elk hunting together.
Robert was a life-long farmer who loved raising livestock and crops. He began working on a farm near Ridgeway at a very early age and he continued to be actively involved in management decisions about his own farms until his passing. He also spent ten years working on road construction during the completion of I-35. In later years, even though he lost most of his sight, he still enjoyed the beauty of the world through his trees, flowers and his large lawn that he mowed to perfection. Robert was active in community affairs; coaching Wayne’s Little-League baseball team, serving on the Eagleville City Council, and with the Green Hills Regional Development Agency. He also served as a Judge on the Harrison County Court.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 21 at Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville, MO. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Blythedale, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Cedar Hill Cemetery, Blythedale, MO in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
