Kansas City, MO: Edward L. Fitzgerald, 84, of Claycomo, MO passed away July 13, 2018. Ed was born in Harrison County, MO near Martinsville, to Jesse and Grace (Davis) Fitzgerald on March 14, 1934.

He attended school at Bethany and Martinsville, graduating from Martinsville, MO High School in 1952. Shortly after graduation he served his country as a proud Marine from 1952-1955. Within a few weeks of his departure from the Armed Forces, he began his 40+ years a craftsman for AT&T. He married Eileen Watson on May 4, 1957, and they have resided in the Kansas City North area the past 61 years. They were blessed with three children, Mark, Marla, and Marsha.

Ed has been a member of Winnwood Baptist Church since 1957, where he served as a deacon and in other areas of ministry at the Church. He has been a blood donor donating over 60 gallons. He volunteered with the Handicapped Swim Class at the YMCA for 20 years and worked for several years at the ARC Thrift Store on N. Oak a day each week. He enjoyed being a member of Clay-Platte Trackers Walk Club for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother, Dean Fitzgerald and Sisters, Maxine O’Neal and Betty Ross. He is survived by his wife, Eileen; son, Mark Fitzgerald (Ester); daughters, Marla Langeneckert (Joe), and Marsha Fitzgerald; grandsons, Johnathan and Jason Fitzgerald; brother, Harold Fitzgerald (Gail); nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Services will be held at Winnwood Baptist Church , 4513 N Jackson, Kansas City, MO 64117 on July 19, 2018; visitation, 10:00-11:00 am; funeral service at 11:00 with burial following at Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Winnwood Baptist Church or the Clay-Platte ARC.
