BLYTHEDALE, MO: Carolyn Elaine (Cummins) Taff, 71, Blythedale, MO passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at a Lamoni, IA nursing home.
She was born on March 1, 1947 in Bethany, MO the daughter of Robert J. and Verda L. (Tull) Cummins.
Carolyn accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized as a young girl. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Blythedale. Carolyn lived in Harrison and Mercer counties.
On August 21, 1971, Carolyn was united in marriage to Larry Taff.
In earlier years, Carolyn would ride with Larry and helped drive on long hauls for the trucking company they owned for 15 years. She worked for the telephone company in Lamoni and managed several restaurants in the area. She was instrumental in starting a family grave stone restoration business. The last few years she enjoyed meeting people as she worked the front desk at Eagle’s Landing. She was instrumental in organizing several charities in Harrison County and was a member and held officer positions in the Bethany Eagles Club.
Carolyn enjoyed riding horses, outdoors, the comradery of friends on the Calamity Jane Trail rides, singing and playing the piano/organ, and also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved writing poems for her family. Carolyn was very interested in exploring family history as her family was very important to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Kimberly DeEtt Taff.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Larry, of the home; sons, Steven (Darlene) Palmer, Cainsville, MO, Ervin (Dawn) Taff, Mercer, MO; daughter, Robin (Ryan) Crenshaw, Afton, IA; 11 grandchildren, 3 great granddaughters; brother, Delbert (Beverly) Cummins, Ft. Scott, KS; sister, Daisy (Roy) Parsons, Eagleville, MO; and numerous nephews and nieces. She will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville, MO. Burial will follow in Goshen Cemetery, Princeton, MO.
