Brooklyn R. Hawkins, Ridgeway, was charged this week by Harrison County authorities with first degree assault in a shooting that occurred on Dec. 22. According to a Highway Patrol report, Hawkins’ brother, Jeremy A. Knight of Pattonsburg, suffered a bullet wound to the chest during an altercation at Hawkins’ home on East 282nd Street. Knight is recovering from the wound from a 38-caliber handgun at a hospital in Kansas City.
