Stanberry, MO: Peggy Pauline Thomas, 87, of Stanberry, MO entered her heavenly home on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Mosaic Medical Center, Albany, MO.

     She was born October 19, 1936 in Gentry County, Missouri the daughter of Guy Wesley and Cora Elizabeth (Harkrider) Grantham.

     Peggy spent her youth in the Grantham Community north of Stanberry.  She attended the Grantham Country School and graduated from Stanberry High School in 1954.

     She spent most of her working career in various school districts including Worth County, King City and retiring from Albany.  She was active in Gentry Lions Club, Senior Center Board member and received an award for her 16 years of dedicated service to the Gentry County Library Board of Trustees.  She was also an active member of the Stanberry United Methodist Church.

     In 1957, Peggy married Jack Lewis.  They welcomed three children, Danny (Susan) Lewis of King City, MO, Lorie (David) Gilgour of Grain Valley, MO and Jackie (Chris) Allenbrand of Stanberry, MO.  She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Adam Gilgour of Chicago, IL; Kyle (Jill) Lewis of Ft. Collins, CO; Kolby (Laura) Lewis of Mound City, MO; Kaitlyn (Evan) Brown of St. Joseph, MO and Kaylie Gilgour of Kansas City, MO, as well as four great-grandchildren, Jackson, Brylee, Ramsey and Issac.

     On April 14, 1998, Peggy married Arch Thomas, her high school sweetheart.  With that union, she gained three additional children, Clayton, Ginger and Boyd.

     Peggy loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and the new great-grandchildren.  She also liked her flowers, feeding the hummingbirds and watching the Kansas City Chiefs.  She enjoyed seeing the scenery in different parts of the country, but her favorite place was home, surrounded by her family.  They will miss her homemade noodles, her blue-ribbon banana pie, her sweet smile and hundreds of other things.

     Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, at the United Methodist Church, Stanberry, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry, MO.  Burial will follow in the High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry, MO.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church.  Memorials may be made to the Stanberry United Methodist Church and/or P.H.A.R.M.
