Margaret Rose (Smith) Lisle, age 66, of Bethany, Missouri, was born on October 28, 1950, the sixth child of Thomas Willard and Marjorie Violet (Gibler) Smith.  She died of a seizure on January 4, 2017, at the Harrison County Hospital in Bethany, Missouri.

She finished high school in Leon, Iowa in 1970.  After graduation she stayed with her dad several years because he was alone.  She worked in Leon at a nursing home for a while and later married Dennis Lisle on May 5, 1984.  Their home was in Bethany, Missouri, where she worked several years at the Country Kitchen Restaurant in Bethany.

Margaret was always well liked and a very loving person.  She practiced her faith as a Christian should for Jesus Christ.  She loved Bible study and being with friends and family.  One of her favorite things to do was play with her dog, Levi.  She also loved to cook and wait on her husband.  They loved each other very much.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Marjorie Smith on June 20, 1962, and Thomas Smith on September 20, 1993; and her brother, Lloyd Smith on May 11, 2014.  She leaves her husband, Dennis Lisle of Bethany, Missouri; sisters, Lorene Olson of Carlisle, Iowa, Vivian Smith and husband, Gary of Chariton, Iowa, and Macyl Harlow and husband, Dan of Galax, Virginia; brother, Davie Smith and wife, Joan of New Virginia, Iowa; 14 nieces and nephews; and Dennis’s family, his mother, Nadeen Nigh and husband, Doyle Nigh; his father, Sanford Lisle and wife, Shirley Lisle; his siblings, Patty and Walter Brickey, Sheila and Dan Burford, Danny and Becky Lisle, and Marlene and Larry Sicht, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017, with Brother Ron Smith officiating.  Burial was in the Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa.

Memorials may be given to Immanuel Baptist Church in Bethany, Missouri.
