Hundreds of kids filled their baskets with treats Monday afternoon during the annual Scare on the Square in downtown Bethany.
The weather was perfect, with temperatures in the low 70s, for the costume parade around the Square. Bethany Chamber of Commerce President Laurie Nyhagan announced the winners of the costume contest on the front steps of the courthouse. Cassi Deskins presented prizes ranging from bicycles to beach balls to the winners in the eight divisions of the contest.
