Curtis Don Craig, 55, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away September 30, 2017 at his home in Kansas City, Mo. He had battled cancer for the last three years.

Curtis was born October 4, 1961 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., to Don and Betty Craig.

He grew up in the Kansas City area graduating from Raytown High School in 1979. As a young teenager he worked at the Royal Stadium on the ground crew and for the Raytown Parks & Recreation Department. After graduating he immediately went to work in the offices of Western Auto doing computer work. He later worked for Associated Wholesale Grocers, DST, American Century and lastly for MasterCard doing IT computer work.

He was married to Teresa Kay Weir August 11, 1984 and to this union was born, daughter, Brittany Dawn Craig Sneed and Bradley Dewight Craig. They were the pride and joy of his life. He coached their softball, baseball and their basketball games all through school he was a “sports nut”. His son had taken him to Arizona this past spring for the Royals spring training. He had made may friends through his life. He accepted Christ as his Savior as a young boy and was baptized at the Sterling Heights Baptist Church.

Besides his children and their spouses, Chris and Brooke, he leaves his parents of Bethany; his two sisters, Marcia (Bruce) Sanders, Lee’s Summit, Cathy Craig, Kansas City, Mo.; niece, Alisha Jo Beth (Scott) Aeschleman; nephew, Jeff (Laura) Sanders, Boston, Mass.; four great nieces and one great nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be greatly missed by all.

A Celebration of Life was held in Kansas City on Saturday, October 7th. A graveside service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the KC MLB Urban Youth Academy where their mission is to open up the game he loved to everyone regardless of background.
