Field lights: Employees of an Muscatine, Iowa, company unload pole sections for the new field lighting system at the Bethany Memorial Park’s ball field. The four 60-foot poles will accommodate lights that will cover all corners of the softball and baseball facility. The $135,000 lighting system was installed over the weekend by Brandy Electric of Blue Springs, Mo.
Bethany’s Memorial Field looks like a barren moonscape today, but that should all change by the end of fall when the Parks and Recreation Department completes a major upgrade of the softball and baseball facility.
