Borntreger receives 25 years

Samual BorntregerDescribing his act as a “heinous crime,” Circuit Judge Terry Alan Tschannen sentenced Samuel Borntreger to 25 years in prison for poisoning his wife Anna Yoder Borntreger in 2007.

The state had recommended the sentence following a plea agreement under which Borntreger admitted that he murdered Anna, the mother of his five children, while they were living on a farm in the Amish community northwest of Bethany.
