A long line of trucks carrying blades for wind generators was waiting at the Highway Patrol weigh station on I-35, north of Eagleville, on Wednesday morning. The transportation of these blades has become a common sight on area highways as wind power has become a growing source of power in the Midwest. Highway Patrol cars provide an escort for the oversize trucks. The patrolmen were waiting at the state line as the trucks pulled into Missouri for points south. NexEra Energy Resources plans to establish a large wind farm near Osborn in DeKalb County.
