Roger HamiltonRoger Neal Hamilton, age 66, of rural Cainsville, Missouri, the son of Alva Warren and Ruth (Eastin) Hamilton, was born November 23, 1949, in Leon, Iowa.  He died at his home on Tuesday, May 24, 2016.

Roger, also known as Tod, graduated from Cainsville High School in 1967.  He then farmed with his dad and brothers in the Cainsville area.  Tod loved farming.  Over the years he also milked dairy cows, had hogs and stock cows, and drove for a delivery service.  He provided for his family.  He loved going on and giving rides on his “buggy” to survey the farm.

On July 5, 1968, Tod was united in marriage to Marcia Lois Booth in Cainsville.  They were blessed with two children, Teresa and Ryan.  Tod attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Marcia until its closing.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Leonard Hamilton and Doyle Hamilton; sister-in-law, Sang Booth; and brother-in-law, Gary Mitchell.  Survivors include his wife, Marcia of the home; daughter, Teresa Bierschenk and fiancé Randy VanGundy of St. Joseph, Missouri; son, Ryan Hamilton and wife Dina of Liberty, Missouri; three grandchildren, Brennen Bierschenk, Ian Hamilton, and Lily Hamilton; sister, Patty Moreland and husband Charles of Bethany, Missouri; brothers-in-law, Maurice Booth of Forsythe, Missouri, Mike Booth and wife Margaret of Cainsville; sister-in-law, Mary Mitchell of Cherokee, Kansas, Monica Woods and husband Roger of Maryville, Missouri, Karen Hamilton of Leon, Iowa, and Janiece Hamilton of Clarinda, Iowa; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held at the Cainsville Christian Church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, with nephew, Russell Hamilton officiating.  Burial was in the Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa.

A memorial fund to the Cainsville Community Center has been set by the Family.
