mauriceyorkphotoMaurice W. York, 91, of Albany, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at King City Manor.

Maurice was born November 3, 1924 in New Hampton, Missouri, the son of John Alexander and Frances Awnza (Redmond) York.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Marion York, brother John York and sister Evelyn Shepard.

On June 11, 1948, Maurice was united in marriage to Helen Rosalie (Kate) Parker.

Maurice retired from the United States Marine Corps after 30 years of service. He held several jobs after retiring, the Gentry County Shopper, drove cars for Pettijohn Auto for 20 years with his twin brother Marion and they also worked auctions together. 

He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Albany.

Survivors: wife, Rosalie (Kate) York, Albany; sons, Terry (Janna) York, Waco, TX; Steve (Paula) York, Bethany; daughters, Sue (Neal) Rucks, Willmar, MN; Jani York, Albany; 7 grandchildren, Matthew York, Melody (Jose) Zuniga, Kim (Jason) Berman, Justin (Kristin) Rucks, Kellee Rucks, Kristin (James) Slattten, Aaron (Crystal) Craig; 8 great-grandchildren, Miriam, Jahzi and Wesley Zuniga, Parker and Holland Rucks, Evan Craig, Shea and Cali Slatten.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Friday, May 13 at the First Baptist Church in Albany. Burial will be in the Carter Cemetery, New Hampton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church, where friends may call anytime after 11:00 AM Friday.
