An untimely, and disputed, technical penalty assessed against the South Harrison bench thwarted a brilliant comeback by the Lady Bulldogs Friday night in the closing seconds of the Class 2, District 16 Tournament at Maysville.
South Harrison had fought back to take its first lead of the night over the North Platte Panthers with just six minutes left in the game. As the final seconds ticked away, Lady Bulldog Coach Bill Pottorff called a timeout in the middle of a pair of free throws by Hunter Purdun. The referees checked with the scorer’s table and determined that the Bulldogs did not have any timeouts left and called a technical against the South Harrison bench.
