Michael H. Wells, 49 of Smithville, MO passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at K.U. Medical Center, K.C., KS. A visitation will be held 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, MO; followed by a 6:00 p.m. memorial service at the funeral home. Inurnment of the cremains will take place at a later date. The family suggests contributions be given to: Mid-America Leukemia & Lymphoma Society-6811 Shawnee Mission Pkwy. #202 Mission, KS 66202. Mike was born April 26, 1966 in Bethany, MO to Edward and Sandra Sue (Snyder) Wells. He was raised in the Bethany area, and was a 1985 graduate of the South Harrison High School; later living in Hamilton and Kansas City, before moving to Smithville, MO, 5 years ago. Mike married Cheryl Beth Owen on March 17, 2001 in K.C., MO. He was a member of the New Song Christian Fellowship of K.C., MO; and worked as an engineer for the Norfolk Southern Railroad. Mike enjoyed shooting sports, and was an r/c enthusiast. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and 4-wheelers, and enjoyed playing video games with his son. Mike was also a train watcher, and was especially fond of spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father. Mike is survived by: his mother Sue Wells of Bethany; his wife Cheryl of the home; his son Chris (Elizabeth) Wells of K.C., MO; his daughter Kendra (Anthony) Carlson of Boise, ID; 2 brothers David (Jody) Wells, and Mark (Pam) Luz of Clovis, CA; 1 sister Carol Wells of Bethany; and 3 grandchildren Ellie Kenney, and Peyton and Jordyn Wells.
