Ruth Ann Sturdy, age 68, of Bucklin, died Thursday, July 23, 2015, at University Hospital in Columbia.

A funeral service will be Sunday, July 26, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield with Chris Hill officiating. Burial will be in Gilman City Masonic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials for a scholarship fund for Ruth Ann’s grandchildren (checks payable to William Pardun) may be left at or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.

Ruth Ann, daughter of Harold and Leona (Cottrell) Pardun, was born February 25, 1947, in Gilman City, Missouri.

Ruth Ann was a graduate of Harrison County High School in Gilman City and the University of Missouri in Columbia.   She taught school for many years in the Cairo, Meadville, and Bucklin school districts.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Macon and The Red Hatters.

Survivors include her son, Javen Sturdy and wife, Joanne of Grovetown, Georgia; two grandchildren, Madison Sturdy and Matthew Sturdy both of Columbia; a brother, William Pardun and wife, Marilyn of Gilman City; and two sisters; Norma Jean Townley of Jefferson City and Martha Steger of Gallatin

Her parents and a brother-in-law, Merrill Townley, preceded her in death.
