Republican-Clipper photo Manager Todd Williams cuts the ribbon for the grand opening of Bethany Peterbilt on Tuesday morning. Chris Geis, president of Kansas City Peterbilt, standing to Williams’ left, also took part in the ceremony, which was held by the Bethany Area Chamber of Commerce. Holding the ribbon are Mikala Smith and Rhonda Taylor, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Geis’ father Leon, who founded the business. Chris Geis said business has grown at the Peterbilt facility since it opened three months ago. He said Bethany’s location on I-35 was one of the reasons that Peterbilt decided to locate in the community. “It is a great corridor off I-35 halfway between Kansas City and Des Moines, two big truck towns,” he said. Toot-Toot Restaurant catered a luncheon for area truck drivers and customers.
