Dorothy Irene (Johnston) Huitt, 88, Ridgeway, MO passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at a nursing home in Bethany, MO.
She was born April 3, 1927 outside Natrone, Wyoming the daughter of Jake and Minnie (Carter) Johnston.
On December 26, 1946 she married Harold Dean Huitt in Atchison KS. He preceded her in death.
Dorothy taught school near Andover Missouri for a short period of time after high school graduation. She was also a partner in ministry with her husband Harold.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents Jake and Minnie Johnston and her siblings, Alta Fullerton, Elmer Johnston, Otis Johnston, Lola Adams, Emma Lane, Lloyd Johnston and son-in-law, Garry Eivins.
Survivors are her children, Donna Eivins and Barbara Spencer, Des Moines, IA, David Huitt, Florissant, MO, Samuel Huitt, Calumus, IA, Rhonda Pierce, Kansas City, MO, Gilbert Joe Huitt, Billings, MO, Martha “Marty” Huitt, Kansas City, MO; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters in law, Vera J. Baker, Savannah, MO; Vera M. Baker, Des Moines, IA, Edna Johnston, Des Moines IA, Maria Johnston, Carroll IA and brother in law, Roscoe Lane, Blythedale MO.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday August 1 at Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville, MO. Burial in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Blythedale, MO.
